“Protecting forests is necessary for our future.”

- Kenneth Rimdahl,

Founder of Forest Friendly Tea

Our Story

Since 2013, Forest Friendly Tea has done more than refine an old tradition. Guided by renowned Swedish Tea Master Kenneth Rimdahl, we source unique tea grown in harmony with the forests of Northern Thailand to create some of the most interesting and sustainable teas in the world.

Forest Friendly Tea work with a number of tea companies worldwide and make everything in small batches from our home base in Chiang Mai, Thailand to be as close to the source as possible.

Our process of working together with farmers to make them caretakers of forests is the foundation of creating the world’s most sustainable tea to protect the natural world and its biodiversity.

Drink tea to protect forests. As simple as that.

Tea from Thailand.

The birthplace of tea. Long before people started drinking leaves from the tea plant, it was used for medicinal purposes in the mountains of what is now known as Thailand. Tea still grows completely wild in these forested mountains, and it is up to us to protect them for the future.

Here we work with a number of local communities to create the world’s most sustainable cup of tea.

Biodiversity is important.

We know that a natural ecosystem is the best defense against unwanted pests. It is vital that we protect biodiversity to keep our tea plants healthy and happy.

Collecting Data

For the past three years we have been working with entomologists to collect data on the biodiversity of insects around our tea sights.

Making a Difference

We aim to publish our results in the near future to further develop theories and spread our way of protecting biodiversity around tea.
