Tea Fauna

Discovering and documenting the biodiversity around tea.

Initiated in 2017, The Tea Fauna Project is focused on studying biodiversity associated with tea plants species across Asia and aims to create a better understanding of not only tea biodiversity but also general biodiversity in South East Asia to be used in conservation and agroforestry efforts.

By learning about differences in various agricultural and agro-ecological systems we can create the best possible environment for a thriving biodiversity, all while creating a great cup of tea.

“Before we can protect biodiversity we need to have knowledge of the biodiversity”

— Alexey Reshchikov, entomologist and lead researcher of The Tea Fauna Project
